Vision Industrial Park: Summary of Key Issues Round 1 Date Released: 06-06-2011
Gecko Namibia hosted a series of 12 public and stakeholders' meetings in April and May 2011 as part of a scoping study to identify the ideal site for the proposed Vision Industrial Park. The meetings were facilitated by the Southern African institute for Environmental Assessment (SAIEA) and as a result a summary of key issues were compiled as feedback to all interested and affected parties. A full environmental impact study will be conducted on the selected site.

Background information document: VIP and related Gecko Projects Date Released: 06-05-2011
Gecko Namibia in cooperation with the SAIEA (Southern African Institute for Environmental Assessment) have embarked upon and environmental scoping study to introduce the public to the proposed industrial park on the Namibian west coast and to determine the exact location of the proposed industrial park. A background information document regarding the proposed industrial park and related Gecko projects was compiled.

CSIR's response on "2km dead zone" Date Released: 01-09-2011
During recent public meetings a concern was raised about a potential "2km dead zone" that could be created by the effluent discharges from the proposed Gecko Industries into the ocean.

Gecko has approached CSIR to provide more clarification on this aspect, as well as on the general purpose of their report.
